CRUCE (Crossing) is a site-specific dance piece for two female dancers adaptable to varying spaces.
Co-produced by the Centro de Cultura Contemporánea Condeduque, Madrid, premiering in October 2022 in its Patio Central.

Green smoke, futuristic costumes, an ironic, slightly comic tone. CRUCE is a fantasy in which two women arrive at an unknown place, transforming it into a different space through fantasy. Two women occupying the place of explorers, an unusual role for women in our culture. Choreographing for open spaces is a challenge because it implies reflecting on the gaze of the public. CRUCE plays at destabilizing the usual power relations between the two. It is a work in which we use a traditional and recognisable choreographic language allied to music with eighties overtones, creating an imaginary that takes us back to typical science fiction films. Under the fantasy that we propose, recurring themes of Poliana’s trajectory are presents, such as power and the female body.
Underneath the harmless appearance of fantasy, CRUCE reflects on power, the female body and how it relates to the collective ideas of invasion and perceiving otherness as a threat.
